Jo MacRae, Choir Leader
Jo joined SING4FUN! in 2016 and having experienced and witnessed the benefits of group singing, Jo has become really passionate about enabling everyone to have the opportunity to sing, including the younger members of our community.
Having qualified as a teacher in 1997, Jo taught Physical Education and Drama in secondary schools in London until moving back to Lancashire in 2013. During that time, she choreographed and co-produced many productions and musicals in secondary schools. She’s really looking forward to showcasing the work of SING4FUN! Youth at this year’s ‘Parbold Sings’ event to be held in the Village Hall on 30th March.
Jo is currently the Choir Leader of SING4FUN! (the older ones!) and is having so much fun doing it that it’s time we branched out and got a youth choir going with the same ethos; If you enjoy singing, then you’re in!!!
Jo works for the NSPCC delivering the ‘Speak Out. Stay Safe’ programme across primary schools in East and West Lancashire and, in addition to Qualified Teacher Status, holds an enhanced DBS certificate.
